Missions

As the world continues to change, the context of missions continues to change. There is an ongoing need for members of the church, both senders and goers, to constantly renew the missionary vision of the church passed on from the apostles. The purpose of Missions is to equip current, future, and potential missionaries (and those who send them) with an understanding of the theological, cultural, and strategic foundations on which effective missions is based. This second edition has been revised substantially toward the end of keeping the missionary vision up-to-date. Five important chapters have been added, covering: - The character and calling of missionaries - Different types of missionaries - A history of missions - The role of money in missions - Four levels of involvement in missions In addition, the more technical portions of the first edition have been changed in order to make the book more accessible.
