Mrs. Caroline Darcy

This variation is more loosely based on P&P than others I have written. Miss Bingley is her social-climbing and fortune-hunting best. Even though neither her brother nor sister support her aspirations, she is bound and determined to marry the future master of Pemberley, Darcy House, and all of the Darcy holdings. Bingley is a much more resolute version of himself and at some point washes his hands off his younger sister and sets her up in her own establishment in London. She lives there with a companion and lives off the interest from her dowry. Bingley wisely does not give her access to the principal. Although she is thwarted in gaining an introduction to the man she had set her cap at, she eventually makes contact with his best friend and gatekeeper. Due to circumstances which unfold, the friend works with Caroline to compromise the object of her obsession. She becomes Mrs. Caroline Darcy, but sometimes not all that glitters is gold. There are many consequences from the former Miss Bingley's behaviour, for herself, and affecting the lives of others. We follow the life of the Bennets, who although not much wealthier than we know them to be, are a much different family unit. Will ODC have their HEA or will they be derailed by outside forces? That and many other questions are answered in this book.
