My Hero

This book gives a description of a "Good Ole Boy" in today's society. However, in his life, he was faithful to God, family and country in everyday living - exemplifying the "hero" image in all walks of life. Aldo (Al) Dorrough served in the United States Army from 1948 - 1968 in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded citations and medals for heroic acts. Al surrendered to follow Jesus full-time in August 1974. He pastured five Southern Baptist churches within the next thirty one years. Following the years of pastoring, he served in other areas of ministry. He was an evangelist for a while, preaching revivals across the state. He served as Director of Evangelism at Falls Creek Baptist Assembly for two years. He also did supply pastoring and God blessed him in many ways during those years. He has been married to his childhood sweetheart for sixty-two years. They have four children, seven grandchildren and ten great -grandchildren.
