"I thought I saw a dark shadow out of the corner of my eye. A quick scan of the parking lot told me it was empty. So, I took off, sprinting towards my car, with my paranoia following closely behind. I arrived at my car door, breathless, but relieved. I was okay. I made it. But just as that relief spread to my chest, allowing me to catch my breath, two hands gripped my arms. Jack had been angry for as long as he could remember. Turning to darkness seemed to help him forget his past, at least for a while, but it had become stale and unfulfilling. Darkness was a part of him, but he was ready to try something new. Just as he prepared to turn a new leaf, some new information hit him like a punch. His sister was alive.
