Parenting Tween

Between the ages of 8 and 12, tweens are beginning to experience puberty, social pressure, and increased responsibility. Teens are dealing with the same issues and increasingly identifying outside of the family. Even though it can be difficult for all parties involved, maneuvering through these new obstacles is an essential step toward adulthood, and it all forms part of your child's individualization process. It may not be easier to accept that these developmental hiccups are normal, but there are some common parenting blunders that only serve to exacerbate the situation.
