Om Tectonics and Seismic Structure of Alaska and Northwestern Canada
This book focuses on topics related to the active tectonics of Alaska and the Northern Cordillera of Canada. These include paleoseismic and paleotsunami work, analysis and modeling of the geodetic data, estimates of crustal thickness and seismic wavespeed structure. Also included are notable earthquakes in Alaska since the 2002 Denali Fault earthquake, advancements in numerical modeling of tectonic processes in the Alaska subduction zone, and geological sampling and analysis to constrain the timing of various processes and fault slip rates. Besides studies that have used EarthScope geographical data, this book will include new and relevant geological studies that constrain long-term fault slip rates, erosion/exhumation rates, stress state, and other key properties.
