The Confluence

What if a king wanted to meet with you? Would it be life-changing... or would it be disappointing?It has been a life-long war that currently has no end in sight. A reluctant and weary soldier is invited to meet with a king under terms of peace from an opposing kingdom. Out of everyone possible, why the soldier? Is it a trap? Does he deny the invitation to avoid his potential capture and execution? Or does he courageously risk accusations of treason, among other possible consequences, to face the king for the sake of his curiosity?
