Om The Parables of Jesus
The Parables of the Kingdom of Heaven are presented in the Gospel of Matthew, who was one of the twelve disciples chosen by Jesus of Nazareth for the evangelization of peoples and the diffusion of his teachings to the entire Christian community. The parables exclusive to this evangelist are: Parable of the Mustard Seed; Parable of the Leaven; Parable of the Hidden Treasure; the Parable of the Pearl of Great Price; and the Parable of the Ten Virgins. In Hebrew, Matthew is referred to as Matthew Levi, Levi of Alphaeus; also known as Matthew the Apostle.
Jesus' parables were set forth in the Bible verses of the four evangelists: Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John. In the same chronological order as their gospels, these narratives were selected from their respective gospels. The evangelist Matthew also appears in the synoptic gospels of Mark and Luke; such as Levi, son of Alphaeus or Cleopas; the publican; and tax collector of Capernaum (Matthew 9:9; Mark 2:14; Luke 5:27-29). In Christendom, Matthew is highly recognized for his biblical verses embodied in his gospels, known as the Gospels of Matthew.
